... rope activities

Climbing in Slovakia is possible the whole year through, due to weather (cold winter and hot summer) and natural scenery (mountain peaks, rock faces, ice waterfall and bulder problems) that create reasonable condition for rock, ice and mixed climbing.

There are many climbing sites in north part of Slovakia, most are easy to access:

.: established bouldering areas or areas which would offer scope as a bouldering; where are number of problems with diferrent grades,

.: a lot of single-pitch rock climbing routes in the north part of Slovakia, most of them well bolted,

.: multi-pitch climbing to Tatras mountain peaks.

The High Tatras they can provide the best conditions for climbing in The East and Central Europe. The basic building "rock" of the range is Granit which, due to tectonic and erosion processes, gained an unic relief consisting of vertical and overhanged rock walls, leaned plates, saddles and steap peaks. More then 400 routes to Tatra peaks are documanted.

As you can see slovakia is the ideal place for rock/ice climbing, smack in the middle of Europe.

NOTE: Rock climbing is the sport of scaling rocks, using special equipment. Learn the right way to use your climbing equipment because poor use can prove very risky. Climbing calls for mental and physical strength, flexibility, agility and endurance. To help climbers practise, climbing walls have been erected in indoor and outdoor facilities worldwide. A novice to the sport would need the help of an instructor and a few training classes to learn the ropes.
